Signed mimma, Samira is a self-taught, cross disciplinary artist. Addo graduated from University College London, with a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering. Her work can be found in the collections of the National Portrait Gallery Scotland, the Walker Art Gallery and The London Fashion and Textile museum, as well as in private collections. Samira was born and is currently based in London.

Mission Statement,
The guiding ethos that anchors the portfolio of Addo’s work is a personal connection with the subject, an interest in psychology and social dynamics, and to be inclusive of ethnic minorities. In the wider context there is an aspiration to normalise the presence of ethnic minorities in contemporary art, with a sustained interest in steering our gaze towards the unifying expressions of the human spirit. Her work has a focus on capturing the individual expressions of energy, physical presence, emotion, and social interactions in her typically abstracted, contemporary realist style.
